We are also so pleased that we reached our next stretch goal, and that means more content for you! We'll be adding a new tavern patron to A Trip Away Inn, as well as a whole new adventure! Stay tuned for an announcement about our next contributor to Tavern Tales Vol. 1

Colin and I have also been discussing how blown away we are at the support for the buy a round pledge level, so we decided we'd like to make a little change.  In addition to adding a digital copy of the book into the pool, we'll also be donating $5 from each pledge to WorldBuilders. Worldbuilders works to unite the geek community into a massive force to fund education, opportunity, and sustainable self-sufficiency for families and communities worldwide.

As always, thanks to all of you for your continued support and spreading the word with our campaign. This has thus far been such a wonderful experience.  If you have any questions you can reach us in the comments.

-Mike

For the stat lovers here these are the full poll results.

Menu Update, Adventures, and More
about 3 years ago – Thu, Apr 22, 2021 at 09:55:01 PM

A Peek inside A Trip Away Inn Menu & Recipes

The idea behind the physical menu is for the first few spreads to be a replica of the in universe menu followed by recipes for the dishes offered in A Trip Away Inn! We'd like the menu to harness the magnificent creativity of Chef Estabon and mixologist Nix. However, we also want them to be delicious and reasonable to make within the confines of the home kitchen and grocer. Unfortunately, nothing can replace the fiery breath of a dragonborn for those extra special finishing touches, but we can try. The menu is still under construction but take a look at a few recipes!

More Adventure Synopsis'

We've added three more adventure modules synopsis' on the story page for you to feast on! This update showcases Bailey Sullivan's Arvaad Quillforge, William Richardson's Muninn the crow, and Lynne M. Meyers's Kyra Truemoon. We also have the original three adventures by Jen Hazelwood, Makenzie De Armas, and Mike Pisani

We are very close to our stretch goal of 25k that adds another NPC and adventure as well!

Our friends at Apotheosis just launched!

Kickstarter Link: Sirens Battle of the Bards

We love the idea of an entire setting centered around performance and bardic roleplaying. What better way to coax out some beautiful roleplaying performances from your friends than pushing them onto a stage! Anyway, check it out.  Also, has a lot of really cool people involved. Satine Phoenix, Luke Gygax, Deborah Ann Woll, Jason Charles Miller, Chris Funk and more.

A 5E Campaign and Setting in a City of Artists Where Bards Inspire Revolution.

The bohemian City of Salvata encroaches closer to the heavens every century. For a millennium, this towering metropolis has fostered artists, muses, and sirens so as to perfect their art and lure down a deity during a rare eclipse when the stars align.

Under the visionary guidance of the city’s Great Chancellor Calrath, Salvata has prospered in harsh desert conditions—conditions that forge coal into diamonds. And so, the City of Salvata is no different: failure is not shunned here but embraced as a stepping stone to success. Each century, another statue is immortalized, and the city climbs yet another step higher urging all citizens to strive for the vaulted halls at Salvata’s zenith.

A First Look At Our Icon System for 5e
about 3 years ago – Tue, Apr 20, 2021 at 04:05:54 PM

The Icon System

Hello everyone, we are happy to give you a first look at the icon system we've been working on. The system is designed to help GMs quickly find vital information. We've designed our system to be minimally invasive, but still loud enough to draw your eye when scanning for important checks, character dialog, loot, locked doors, encounters, traps, etc... The system also directly interfaces with our maps.

The icon system is not finalized and will go under refinements before the final layout is completed. With that said we are still working with the layout intensely to make sure all of these symbols read well, situate properly, and make sense. There are icons in the legend that were not in the examples intentionally. The system works interchangeably with all symbols and we didn't want this update to be 15 pages long.  We look forward to answering your questions, thoughts, and feedback regarding this system.

Adventures Update + Dice and Pins?

Thursday will debut three fresh new adventure synopsis in the story section of the kickstarter so check back then! We will keep you updated on all these projects as the campaign progresses! (Including the VTT stretch goal and .stl's) Also be on the lookout for a menu update soon with a peak into some of the pages of the menu!

A Toast to You Fellow Travelers!
about 3 years ago – Sun, Apr 18, 2021 at 09:20:20 PM

This has been an amazing week and we just wanted to take a minute and say thank you again. It has been an incredible experience to see the interest you've all had in our idea. We've been working on this project for a while now, and putting it out there was an exciting and terrifying experience that you all made into something we'll never forget. We'd like to offer up a toast to you, the superstars that made our little idea into something real 🥂.

Not only did we fund in our first week but we also hit 2 of our stretch goals, so we'll be expanding the menu and adding some character sub-classes and backgrounds. We'll be running the poll until Thursday the 22nd but we wanted to show you a quick update on the current results:

Current Poll Results

We're aware that some of the backers had trouble accessing the poll, if you have any issues you can email Colin: [email protected] and he'll make sure we add your submissions to our results.  We are also very close to hitting our next stretch goal, so when we do we'll be adding a new tavern patron with their own quest for your adventurers to take part in.

Later this week we'll be releasing a more in-depth look at the menu and our new icon system so we can get your input on those. We've also been looking into creating a Tavern Tales polyhedral set of dice as well as enamel pins. We will be adding VTT modules to our stretch goals for both Roll20 and Foundry, and we're looking into offering .stl files for miniatures to the campaign.

None of this would be possible without your support and we're so glad to be on this ride with you. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please reach out to us in the comments and we'll do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible. Cheers to you fellow travelers, we're excited to see what next week has in store.

Layout Update and more.

Strychnine Adventure Module Layout Update +

So is it an adventure or is it a module? Anyways, we wanted to give you all a sneak peak of one of our adventure modules as it is being constructed and add a few notes of our own down below. This module was written by Makenzie De Armas (She/Her) @MakenzieLaneDA : Kingdoms and Warfare, The Islands of Sina Una

Strychnine is well-known for her ability to brew deadly poisons and potent magical potions—a talent she does not take lightly...

Notes and Other Projects

We are truly ecstatic with how the campaign has gone so far and we know we can get to that 25k stretch goal so we can add another adventure like the one above into Tavern Tales!
